The inquiry
What remains when everything unnecessary burns away?
Desert met sea across four gatherings in Baja: September 2023, then March 2024, 2025 and 2026. Heat, salt and silence shaped each return to the elements. There was space to listen, move, make and gather, with each experience shaped anew by the women who came together.
At the meeting of desert and sea, the elements became something we could feel: the warmth of the temazcal, salt on the skin, breath moving through the body and fire shared after dark. The Spring Equinox program brought these encounters alongside movement, cacao, myth and story, touch and creative expression.
There was room for depth and for delight. Women gathered in the circle, at the table and beside the water. Through witnessing one another, something private could find an echo in the group. Rest and unhurried time were part of the invitation, not an interruption of it.
The landscape
Baja’s East Cape, where desert opened to sea, held our gatherings in salt air and open skies. This is home to Marcela and Sofie, and to be welcomed onto their land was its own gift: we were received by women who know this place in their bodies, its light, its tides and its quiet. The quiet wisdom of the whales, in their rhythms of migration and return, offered an invitation to listen beyond ourselves.

A participant’s reflection
“A retreat with Faden is a life changing opportunity. Not only was every detail of the retreat so perfectly thought out, from the absolutely stunning location, to the delicious, healthy meals, to each little element of the experience, but the Faden team, led by Lindsay Olshan, is the most welcoming, trustworthy and knowledgeable teachers I've ever come across. Lindsay has created an experience that feels like the warmest hug, from the second you walk through the door. And as the time passes, she helps you connect with your inner spirit and inner knowings with such ease, in the most beautiful, profound way. Lindsay also creates an opportunity for all the guests sharing space to connect with each other authentically and naturally, and I left the weekend with new deep friendships that will certainly last a lifetime. It's hard to put into words how special a retreat with Faden is, but once you experience it you will understand there are not many experiences that compare.”

A participant’s reflection
“A life-changing experience of epic proportions. My Baja journey with Faden turned out to be an epic, life-changing experience, in a myriad of exceedingly positive ways. Rendering me, forever and always, wonderfully changed. I search for words to explain in more detail to help others understand the benefits of the multi-faceted, lovingly curated retreat. Alas, some experiences defy description. Suffice to say, I hope you too will be drawn to explore the possibilities of living more deeply, and truly within your best self, and if so, you can’t do better than treating yourself to Faden’s many offerings of healing and growth. Live well!”
