Fall has a way of bringing things into focus. The light changes, the pace slows, and what once felt easy to avoid suddenly feels harder to outrun. There is a reason harvest has always carried symbolic weight. It asks a simple but uncomfortable question: what is ready to be gathered and what can no longer come with you.
This October, we are gathering on a private working farm in Middleburg, Virginia for a version of FADEN that feels especially alive to that threshold. Open land, animals, long tables, colder nights, turning leaves, and a rhythm that begins to pull the nervous system out of urgency and back into something more human.
The retreat is carefully curated because real surrender requires structure. A strong container is never rigid, but it is not vague either. It holds shape while leaving room for surprise, emotion, honesty, and change. Structural integrity and openness at the same time. That balance lives underneath everything we do at FADEN and you can feel it here in the pacing, the beauty, the precision, and the way the group is held from beginning to end.
Across five nights, we move through breathwork, ceremony, acupuncture, bodywork, movement, sound, deep rest, nourishing meals, and meaningful integration. The work is immersive, but not performative. There is enough support to go deep and enough spaciousness for what surfaces to actually land.
The group itself becomes part of the medicine. Women arriving from different lives but often carrying a familiar exhaustion. Overfunctioning. Holding too much. Wanting more than insight alone. Something shifts when women gather in an environment that asks for less performance and more truth.
There is also pleasure here. Heated pools under cold air. Fire circles at night. Beautiful rooms. The smell of wood and earth. Time to wander the property or sit quietly with a cup of coffee while horses move in the distance. Beauty not as decoration, but as a signal to the body that it is safe enough to soften.
This retreat is for women who can feel that something in them is ready for a different season. A precise crossing.

A generous King room, held in quiet proportion and finished with premium linens, tended daily. French doors open directly to the garden, drawing in steady light and a sense of orientation to the land. The room is spacious enough to soften the body without losing clarity. Climate is regulated, storage is ample, and everything you need is placed without excess. A TV is present, though it tends to fall away.
Located in the Farm’s Gorgeous Guest House, where a shared great room with vaulted ceilings creates a sense of openness. A full kitchen includes cappuccino maker, assortment of teas and hot chocolate. The wraparound deck becomes a natural extension of the day, morning coffee, writing after ceremony work, or sitting alongside new friends.

Light moves easily through the space, supported by both air flow from the ceiling fan and steady climate control. The room holds what you need without excess, clothing storage, hangers, extra pillows and blankets, and essentials placed with care.
Also located in the Guest House, with access to the shared great room, full kitchen, and wraparound deck. It’s a quieter footprint within the same field, offering ease, proximity, and a sense of being held within the larger rhythm of the house while maintaining privacy.

FAQs

Flying into Dulles International Airport (IAD) airport is the best option. Please be advised that airfare and transfers are NOT included in the retreat cost. We will however aid in setting up shared transport whenever possible.
The retreat will officially begin with our welcome dinner on the evening of October 13th and will close on October 18th after brunch. We recommend that you arrive early afternoon on the 13th to check in, get settled and enjoy some time on the property before dinner.

FADEN does not offer refunds of any kind for the retreat deposit. Refunds for the balance payments vary depending on timing. Should you need to cancel with more than 30 days until the retreat date, you will be refunded 100% of the total amount (less deposit). Should you need to cancel within 30 days of the retreat date, 50% of the total amount (less deposit) will be refunded. Finally, under no circumstance will there be any refunds given for cancellation requests made within 14 days of the retreat date.Exceptions cannot be made for any reason, including weather, injury/illness/death, COVID-19 or personal emergencies. We do not offer refunds or credit for a guest who fails to attend, arrives late, or leaves early. Naturally, no one books with the intention of canceling or postponing their retreat, but unexpected things do happen, so please consider purchasing travel insurance.
If FADEN must cancel a booked retreat date for any reason, you may transfer your full retreat payment to another retreat, or you may request a refund of your payment amount (less the deposit which can be applied to another retreat) to your original payment method. FADEN is not responsible for your expenses incurred in preparation for any canceled retreat, such as airline tickets, loss of work, and/or other costs associated with preparing for your trip.
