There is a kind of pilgrimage that belongs to this time of year. Not one marked by distance, but by a turning. The movement is subtle and unmistakable. What once reached outward begins to draw back. What has been growing asks to be gathered, sorted, taken in.

Women have always known this rhythm, even if it has been quieted. The harvest is not only of the fields, but of a life. What has come to fruition, what has been given energy, what now asks to be kept, and what is ready to be released without negotiation. There is a sobriety to it, but also a deep rightness. A sense that something is completing itself.

We gather on a farm where this is lived rather than spoken about. The land does not rush the process. It holds what is ready and lets go of what is not. In that environment, something in you begins to do the same. The body softens its grip where it has been holding too tightly. Attention shifts toward what is essential.

The work meets you there. Through breath, through the quiet precision of acupuncture, through movement that restores rather than performs, through ritual that marks what is ending and what is being carried forward. Nothing is added for effect. What emerges comes from direct contact with your own experience.

This retreat is for women who can feel the pull of this season and do not want to override it. Women who sense there is something to gather from their lives right now, something to claim, something to lay down. Women who are ready to walk themselves back into alignment with their own timing, and to do that in the presence of others who are also willing to see clearly.

GUEST HOUSE - KING

A generous King room, held in quiet proportion and finished with premium linens, tended daily. French doors open directly to the garden, drawing in steady light and a sense of orientation to the land. The room is spacious enough to soften the body without losing clarity. Climate is regulated, storage is ample, and everything you need is placed without excess. A TV is present, though it tends to fall away.

Located in the Farm’s Gorgeous Guest House, where a shared great room with vaulted ceilings creates a sense of openness. A full kitchen includes cappuccino maker, assortment of teas and hot chocolate. The wraparound deck becomes a natural extension of the day, morning coffee, writing after ceremony work, or sitting alongside new friends.

GARDEN HOUSE - QUEEN WITH EN SUITE BATH

A Queen room scaled for simplicity, with a comfortable bed dressed in quality linens and tended daily. Light moves easily through the space, supported by both air flow from the ceiling fan and steady climate control. The room holds what you need without excess, clothing storage, hangers, extra pillows and blankets, and essentials placed with care.

Also located in the Garden House, with access to the shared great room, full kitchen, and wraparound deck. It’s a quieter footprint within the same field, offering ease, proximity, and a sense of being held within the larger rhythm of the house while maintaining privacy.

This Queen room located in the Farm’s Cottage is one of our favorites. The wood is what grounds it, exposed beams and warm tones that bring weight and texture to the space without making it heavy. Located within a three-bedroom cottage, the space shares a great room and full kitchen. The same wood carries through these common areas, across ceilings and thresholds, creating continuity and a sense of cohesion. FAQs

  • Flying into Washington DC (IAD) airport is the best option. Please be advised that airfare and transfers are NOT included in the retreat cost. We will however aid in setting up shared transport whenever possible.

    The retreat will officially begin with our welcome dinner on the evening of October 13th and will close on October 18th after brunch. We recommend that you arrive early afternoon on the 13th to check in, get settled and enjoy some time on the property before dinner.


  • FADEN does not offer refunds of any kind for the retreat deposit. Refunds for the balance payments vary depending on timing. Should you need to cancel with more than 30 days until the retreat date, you will be refunded 100% of the total amount (less deposit). Should you need to cancel within 30 days of the retreat date, 50% of the total amount (less deposit) will be refunded. Finally, under no circumstance will there be any refunds given for cancellation requests made within 14 days of the retreat date.

    Exceptions cannot be made for any reason, including weather, injury/illness/death, COVID-19 or personal emergencies. We do not offer refunds or credit for a guest who fails to attend, arrives late, or leaves early. Naturally, no one books with the intention of canceling or postponing their retreat, but unexpected things do happen, so please consider purchasing travel insurance.

    If FADEN must cancel a booked retreat date for any reason, you may transfer your full retreat payment to another retreat, or you may request a refund of your payment amount (less the deposit which can be applied to another retreat) to your original payment method. FADEN is not responsible for your expenses incurred in preparation for any canceled retreat, such as airline tickets, loss of work, and/or other costs associated with preparing for your trip.
